In celebration of Lunar New Year 2020, luxury watch boutique TAG Heuer held a competition for BA(Hons) Fashion Media and Industries students to design and create animated window displays for the brand's retail shop windows.
Inspired by family reunions during the festive season, the winning team comprising Fushi Yang, Ong Wei Qi, Moniyshaa Kalaiselva and Aanya Sachdev incorporated Chinese doors - a symbol of family and unity – in their design which was selected for installation at three TAG Heuer Boutiques located at ION Orchard, Wisma Atria and Marina Square.
The team shared that the competition has taught them to apply their learned knowledge in a real world setting while working in collaboration as a team with the client's needs in mind, "As students, we are encouraged to think outside of the box but in the real world, there are often limitations such as budgets and timeframes we have to consider. This experience has enabled us to experience many real challenges designers have to grapple with on projects.”
