Damaris’s career as a teacher of English, spanning more than 30 years, has taken her to distant corners of the world, from Spain to South America, from the UK to Australia and finally returning to Singapore. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of settings from the social services sector to the corporate world, before moving into academia.

Her role in running The Learning Centre at LASALLE, providing academic support to students and staff in the college, inspired her to complete her Doctorate in Education. She investigated issues of concern experienced by learners with disabilities and special educational needs as they transition to and experience their first year of study at a university in Singapore. She remains passionate about education and promoting an inclusive campus.
